Meet Tony, Cyprus Luxury Furniture’s installation manager!

Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs are an experienced UK based firm who provide complete furniture solutions for properties in Cyprus. As the first independent UK retailer to supply stylish, readymade furniture packages for villas and apartments in Cyprus, CLFP remain committed to providing their customers with a hassle free, cost efficient service.

Frustrated with excessive costs, lack of choice, UK sourcing and not to mention language barriers, Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs was founded by property investors Mark Sykes and Simon Gawthorpe. As many new homeowners in Cyprus experience the annoyance of furnishing their new property, CLFP has grown from strength to strength supplying, delivering and installing unique furniture packs for minimum cost and maximum quality. From pack selection to home installation, the team at Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs ensure that furnishing your property in Cyprus remains both stress-free and affordable.

Mark and Simon remain extremely hands on and are there for their customers every step of the decision making process. They advise on product suitability, colours and electricals – even furnishings, linen, blinds and everything in between. However it is the installation team whose responsibility it is to deliver and install your furniture before ensuring you are left with a clean and tidy property which is ready for you to move in to or let out.

Tony Womersley is the installation manager for CLFP. He and his team work tirelessly to kit out your property and make your dream home in the sun a reality. Tony speaks from Cyprus on his challenging role within the company.

What is your day to day job role?
On a morning I will call the customer or developer and ask what time I will be able to access to the property. I then go to the warehouse and load the van with the product for that installation.

When we get to the address we will park in a suitable place and start taking the furniture to the property. Once all the furniture is in the apartment we will start to build the furniture up in each of the appropriate rooms. When the furniture is installed, all the packaging and rubbish is cleared away before I then go round the property and check all the correct furniture is there and set up correctly. Following that, I take pictures of the completed apartment or villa which I will later send to the customer. The final thing I do before I leave the property is call the customer to let them know their installation is completed and ask what to do with the keys.

How much time a year do you spend out in Cyprus?
That depends on how long the contract is. We normally do two or three weeks over here then maybe a week or ten days at home. At the moment I am installing 45 apartments which will take two and a half months to complete.

Who do you have working with you in the installation team?
We have a 3 man installation team. Myself, Adam and Ian

What is the largest project you have been involved with for CLFP?
The largest project I have worked on is the current one I am working on at the moment in Mazotos. We have 45 apartments to furnish here and potentially an additional 30.

How long does an average installation take?
An average installation normally takes one day to complete, however that depends on how many bedrooms the apartment or villa has. We furnish two bedroom apartments quite frequently and they usually take one day to complete.

What are the best and worst parts about your job?
The best parts and worst parts of my job are pretty much the same thing! I enjoy having time off and enjoying the sun at the beach or the pool, however doing this type of manual job in 45 degree heat in new apartments that are yet to have air con fitted, can be pretty hard!

4. Atlanta, Georgia. The city offers several new upscale communities, numerous lifestyle amenities, retreats and much sought after waterfront luxury homes.

5. Austin, Texas. A strong real estate market that saw record gains in 2006, the reputable University of Texas, the scenic lakes and the great music attracts buyers to this hill country.

8. Idaho. The growing resort markets in the state garner attention for the state that is making its presence felt in the luxury home market.

9. Jupiter, Florida. The boom has arrived here after Tiger Woods’ purchase of a 10-acre estate for m. The market continues to surge on this exclusive island.

10. Manhattan Uptown, downtown, midtown. The luxury market is upbeat with record sales of more than m in 2006 accelerated by Wall Streeters. Co-ops and town houses are favorites among buyers here.

Cyprus Luxury Furniture: First to offer furniture finance for UK buyers in Cyprus

Mark Sykes and Simon Gawthorpe, founding directors of Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs are always looking for ways to make furnishing properties in Cyprus easier for their customers. Their latest offering is low rate finance (subject to status) on all furniture and related packages. This includes everything you’ll need to make your Cyprus property ready to live in or rent out such as; Furniture, electricals, cutlery, crockery, linen, décor and outdoor furniture.

Simon commented “Buying furniture for an apartment or villa in Cyprus can be expensive and time consuming so anything that makes the cost easier to bear has to be good, particularly in the current financial climate”.

The business was started as a result of the directors being property investors. “We’d been buying property in Cyprus for the last 9 years and over that time we had tried every way possible to get our properties furnished how we’d like them”. This meant sourcing stylish furniture, durable enough to withstand year round use from people renting their properties but at a reasonable price.

Mark went on to explain “The obvious choice was to deal with the local furniture suppliers, however most of their stock is aimed at the domestic market and is quite old fashioned pine furniture, which doesn’t really look right in a modern apartment or villa. In particular it doesn’t really hold much appeal for people looking to rent your property out. Also it’s very expensive, I guess due to the lack of competition on the island. Next up we decided to bring our own furniture from the UK, this was costly on a small scale and the paper work and customs procedures we’re quite daunting, in all this did give us the furniture we wanted, but it was such hard work and took most of my holiday allocation for that year”.

“After furnishing our own properties we started to get enquiries from developers and other investors asking where we got our furniture from. They were in the same position, they didn’t want to spend a lot of money on the wrong furniture, but they didn’t fancy the hassle of doing the job themselves either. We did some rough calculations and realised if we could get enough interest to fill a 40ft container the shipping cost and effort might be viable”

“We’ve been fortunate enough to secure the same suppliers as used by many of the mid to top end furniture retailers in the UK. Except because we buy in bulk and sell to our customers at somewhere between trade and retail we can also absorb the shipping and installation costs making us exceptional value for money. With the addition of finance we are hoping to be able to help UK investors spread the cost of furnishing their properties while still benefiting from our low prices and fully inclusive service.”

Cyprus Luxury Furniture – New Appointment Furniture Designer

The directors of Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs Ltd are delighted to announce the appointment of Jurgen Ullrich to the position of furniture designer. Jurgen has 11 years experience in furniture design, having studied at the respected Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, Halle, Germany. Much of his career has been spent working for a leading German furniture manufacturer, where he worked on various contemporary furniture ranges before joining Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs. Jurgen’s first task will be to design a new more contemporary range of furniture before working with suppliers to put the range into production. The new range will offer ultra modern design at an unattractive price and will be available in both Cyprus and the UK.

Commenting on his appointment Jurgen said “I’m very pleased to be working with Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs, I’ve been given the freedom to create a new range of furniture, I have a clear vision of the finished product, the materials and the colour schemes. I have working already on my initial drawings and will enjoy to present them very soon”. Jurgen went on to say “It costs no more to make an ugly piece of furniture as it does to make one which you find pleasing to look at. There is no reason why this range cannot look good at a good price”.

The new range will add to the existing collections (Moda, Eleganza and San Marco) and will be aimed at owners who are looking for ultra-modern designs, yet practical enough for everyday use. The initial launch will be to customers buying in Southern Cyprus where the company already has an established customer base.  It is anticipated the new range, which has yet to be named will be ready in July 2011 and will comprise of Living, Dining and Bedroom furniture including Sofas and Rugs.

A spokesman for Cyprus Luxury Furniture Packs commented “We’re delighted to have made this appointment. Jurgen is a highly talented designer and will really add depth to our team. We’re very excited about the new range and cannot wait to reveal further details as we progress bringing it to market.  There is a great deal of work to do in the coming months but we are confident the new range will be available from July”.

Hunt for new hob transformed into luxury modern kitchen

Rick Neild and Lisa Hamant were amazed after four separate rooms were transformed into one multi-functional modern kitchen.

Originally, they commissioned Kitchen Design Centre to turn their traditional kitchen into a more practical room – to be used as a family gathering point.

But the end result was that the old kitchen, utility room, dining room and an unused area was transformed into one all-purpose luxury living space.

“Kitchen Design Centre exceeded my expectations – creating a fantastic spacious room with many uses,” said Rick.

“At first, all we wanted to do was replace the hob in our existing kitchen – but we ended up getting a brand new room.”

“When we were shopping around, the intention was to build on our cozy old-fashioned kitchen. But when we visited Kitchen Design Centre there was such an exciting range of modern designer kitchens that we completely changed our minds.”

As well as an “island working space” in the centre of the designer kitchen, there is a dining area and glass door that allows light to pour into the room – creating a bright and homely feel.

“The kitchen houses all the latest modern Neff appliances,” said Rick. “They greatly assist our day-to-day living – including warming drawers, twin fridge freezers and a ‘100 degrees’ boiling water tap – a Quooker.”

“Everyone should own a Quooker. It makes a huge difference to our lifestyle – cutting down cooking times dramatically.

“I liked to the way Kitchen Design Centre came out to our home and were concerned about every little practical detail. They even went as far as to suggest cupboards and appliances appropriate to our heights.

“The fantastic designs from Emma, our designer, really gave us an accurate depiction of what to expect.”

Emma, Designer at Kitchen Design Centre, said: “The final product was nothing like what the couple originally planned, but a collaborative effort between us, Rick and Lisa enabled us to create their dream kitchen.

“To make the different areas into one amazing room, we knocked through several walls and built an extra large glass door. The kitchen is now extremely spacious and bright.”

Rick is more than happy with both the end product and the help he received from Kitchen Design Centre.

“I am extremely pleased with our new designer kitchen,” he said. “Every time someone walks into our house they are stunned by the transformation.

“I would certainly recommend Kitchen Design Centre to my friends. The attention to detail, as well as the help we received from both designers and workmen, made the company a pleasure to work with.”

Kitchen Design centre provides kitchens Manchester, Blackburn and Colne.
